====== 2012 Laptop Purchase Program ======
June 8 (Friday) is the deadling, pending possible renegotiation, for ordering Lenovo Thinkpad laptops via the this year's Departmental Purchase Program.
June 18 (Monday) is the deadline for ordering Apple Macbook laptops via the this year's Departmental Purchase Program.

There are 4 laptop choices, two Mac (15" MacBook Pro w/ Retina Display and 13" MacBook Air) and two Lenovo (14" T420S and 12.5" X220) - specs can be found at the [[https://iris.eecs.berkeley.edu/db/purchasing/Requests/laptop_order.php|Laptop Ordering Page]] - but read on before trying to fill out the order form yourself:

===== TL;DR =====
If you want to order one, figure out who's paying for it - is your advisor/sponsor paying for it (and has agreed to do so) or are you buying it with personal funds - and read on.

If you are paying with personal funds, go directly to the [[https://iris.eecs.berkeley.edu/db/purchasing/Requests/laptop_order.php|Laptop Ordering Page]], make your selection(s) and check the box for "I will pay for my order with a personal check."  Once you do that, indicate below that you did that and note that you placed your own order.

If your advisor(s)/sponsor(s)/other Campus funding source has agreed to pay for your laptop order(s), please indicate your choice(s) below.  We will get funding info all at once from your advisor(s)/sponsor(s)' RSO/GA to place the order.
